Practice HSKK is an official practice portal designed to help international candidates master Mandarin Chinese speaking proficiency. The core of this project is the "Virtual Speaking Room," which simulates real-world exam conditions. By integrating advanced Speech Recognition technology, the platform provides instant feedback on intonation, fluency, and grammatical accuracy, allowing candidates to pinpoint weaknesses before sitting for the official examination.

Challenge Faced

The most significant technical challenge was high-quality audio synchronization across diverse mobile devices with varying microphone specs. Assessing a tonal language like Mandarin via AI requires extremely low latency; any processing delay can compromise the accuracy of intonation scoring. Furthermore, creating a minimalist yet procedurally strict interface (covering lighting and quietness rules) was vital to ensure that the data fed into the AI engine remained free from environmental noise contamination.

Results and Impact:

The solution involved implementing advanced Web Audio API to capture clear audio directly from the browser without requiring external plugins. I utilized an instructive onboarding flow (as seen in the "Mock Exam Environment" module) to mitigate user-side technical failures. Behind the scenes, integration with a specialized Mandarin AI engine ensures every syllable is evaluated against the latest HSKK standards, subsequently delivered through comprehensive performance reports.
